Volunteer Opportunities
The next volunteer orientations are scheduled for November 3 and 17 (10:30 a.m.). Orientations are held at Talitha Koum and typically last about 45 minutes. - Mornings (anytime during a period from 7:30 until 11
a.m.) and afternoons (from1:30 until 5 p.m.) help in one
of the classrooms (infants, toddlers, Pre-K/Kindergarten)
to play with our children on a scheduled basis (i.e. weekly,
bi-weekly)

 Obed was not
her own. He was neither Naomi’s child nor her grandchild, yet she took
him in her lap and cared for him.
The
baby mentors of our Nurture Center’s Naomi’s
LAP program are a vital part of our small, committed team.
These mentors are mature, nurturing adult caregivers (MEN
as well as Women) who hold a commitment to give one-on-one
quality time to an infant or toddler for a minimum of one
hour each week while the program is in session, Mon.-Fri.
Optimum times are 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and 1:30 p.m.
to 3:30 p.m.
- Work with our swimming pool program (June-August only)
- Occasional administrative assistance (i.e. bulk mailings,
other clerical duties)
- Help with Tuesday evening childcare during Parenting
Meeting. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 5:55 with expectation
of leaving by 7:15 at the latest.
- Arrange/display clothing, food and gift incentive items
for Pick-a-Gift before evening Parenting Meeting
(can be done any time before 5:30 p.m.)
- Or provide Pick-a-Gift items: lightly
used children’s
clothes for infants up to size 8, candles, lotion, bath items,
little gifts for Moms.
- Provide 5th Tuesday meal each month for our children
and parents who attend Tuesday night Parenting Meeting.
Food needs to arrive no later than 5:50 p.m.
- Sign up to be contacted and join us for quarterly Saturday
work sessions where we pitch in on building and grounds
upkeep.
