Talitha Koum fundraisers help bring children out of poverty, into school success
The Talitha Koum Institute takes its name from the Aramaic phrase “My child, rise up,” spoken by Jesus when he brought a girl back to life in Mark’s biblical account. A special fundraising effort is underway to give the Waco nonprofit organization a boost up in its work with young children. Becky Lindsey and Linda Baker have organized a series of fundraisers with the aim of raising $100,000 for Talitha Koum. Proceeds from the “Hottest Ticket in Town” — eight parties/dinners during a five-month period — will bring vital support to the cognitive and sensory integration program there.
